MMFU stands for Micro and Macro Focused Ultrasound, a skin-tightening technology that combines both Micro Focused Ultrasound (MFU) and Macro Focused Ultrasound (MaFU) in a single device. Let’s break down the benefits of each:

Micro Focused Ultrasound (MFU)

MFU works at precise depths of 1.5 mm, 3 mm, and 4.5 mm beneath the skin surface. When energy is delivered to these layers, it converts into small, targeted heat points that cause the collagen fibers and the SMAS layer (Superficial Musculoaponeurotic System) to contract, resulting in visible lifting and firming of the skin.

Over time, this process stimulates new collagen production. The once weak and thinning collagen—often the cause of sagging—becomes thicker and stronger, helping to restore firmness and lift to the skin.

Macro Focused Ultrasound (MaFU)

In contrast, MaFU delivers larger energy pulses to deeper layers of the skin: 2 mm, 6 mm, 9 mm, and 13 mm.

  • At 2 mm, it helps stimulate collagen production in the superficial dermis, making it effective for tightening pores, reducing fine lines, and enhancing skin firmness.

  • At 6 mm, 9 mm, and 13 mm, it targets deeper fat layers. This depth is ideal for reducing excess fat and firming loose, sagging fat tissue. In other words, MaFU is effective for body contouring, especially in areas like:

    • Double chin

    • Abdomen

    • Upper arms

    • Thighs

    • Back flanks (love handles)

This makes MMFU a comprehensive solution for both facial lifting and body shaping, working efficiently on both skin and fat layers for a more sculpted, youthful appearance.
